Gitananda Yoga
At YOGA.Hwamin we teach Gitananda Yoga (Rishiculture Ashtanga Yoga) codified by Yogamaharishi Dr. Swami Gitananda Giri. It is a lineage with thousands of years of tradition which was passed down from Guru (teacher) to Chela (student). Today, the lineage is led by his son and the lineage successor Yogacharya Dr. Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani.
As a medical doctor and a Yoga Guru, Swami Gitananda combined his knowledge of modern medical science with teachings of Rishiculture Ashtanga Yoga and developed a comprehensive system of Yoga school which is now called Gitananda Yoga.
Gitananda Yoga practices are holistic and comprehensive. It covers every aspect of the being which makes it unique in today’s yoga world where the word “yoga” has become the synonym for body postures. If you are looking for more than fitness yoga classes, Gitananda Yoga may be what you are searching for.
Classes cover:
Postures (Asana) and Cleansing practices (Kriyas)
Breathing techniques (Pranayama) to restore the balance of energies and help build a stronger immune system.
Relaxation to calm the whole system and to learn how to manage the stress of everyday life.
Meditation for improved focus and concentration.
These practices combine to help balance the nervous system, calm the emotions and clear the mind in order to arrive at a state of inner silence. Regular practice of Yoga offers holistic well-being.
